Stoneware Ty Unnos Incense Holder (no.1)

£15.00

Handmade stoneware ceramic incense holder - Ty Unnos, or one-night house, is an old Welsh tradition where if one could build a house on common land between sunset and sunrise, with a fire burning in the hearth, the house and land in stood on was theirs. These dwellings were usually very simple, and often improved/repaired over time, often they would consist of one room, with a mezzaine/loft for sleeping. I liked the idea of recreating these tiny cottages as incense holders, so the smoke would rise up from their hearths. I’ve made a few of these, as they are all individual there will be small differences in size and colouration.

I am fairly new to ceramics, but am enjoying the practice and experimentation I get as a member of my local pottery collective. I mostly hand-build decorative pieces.

I try to use recycled packaging (re-using bits from our recycling bin) whenever possible. I will obviously package my ceramics as carefully as possible and label them as fragile, but cannot guarantee their safe arrival - do message me if you have any issues with your order and we can discuss a refund.
